Project description

With the existing boilers approaching the end of their service life, the project required a full retrofit to high efficiency boilers in order to optimize energy consumption and reduce the building’s carbon footprint.

Scope of work

We decommissioned and dismantled the existing boilers, including associated venting, and disposed of them offsite. LPI supplied and installed two Riello boilers manufactured in Italy. Because of the size of the equipment and access to the space, we meticulously disassembled the boilers after offloading them, and re-assembled them on the existing housekeeping pads.

To reduce installation time and eliminate the need for pipe threading or welding, we used Mega press fittings for the new gas piping and Pro press fittings for the domestic copper water lines. Additionally, we installed a new custom 30 KVa transformer to meet the electrical requirements for the new equipment.
